On Friday March 6th watch NASCAR’s top contenders alongside its up and coming stars compete under the lights at Atlanta Motor Speedway for starting position in the Kobalt Tools 500. Will one of the up-and-comers take the checkered flag or will a seasoned veteran once again reign supreme. 2008 pole winner Jeff Gordon looks to repeat and yet again finish atop the list of drivers to once again have starting position at the Kobalt Tools 500. The Georgia Power Qualifying race is the start to a weekend full of speed and excitement as the night sets the stage for a weekend of NASCAR racing at one of the sport’s fastest tracks.

Following up the qualifying race will be the highly anticipated Kobalt Tools 500 held on Sunday, March 8th at 2:00pm. The fourth race in the 2009 Sprint Cup season NASCAR’s elite looking to gain some early season points in order to move towards the top of the Sprint Cup leader board. With all drivers eager to get this years series off on the right foot expect to see some heated competition on a track that is widely considered one of NASCAR’s most competitive and challenging tracks.
