On August 29, 2009 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon watch former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Randy “The Natural” Couture square off in the octagon against former PRIDE heavyweight and UFC Interim Heavyweight champion, Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira. Both fighters look to get back to their winning ways and back into title contention after both fighters’ last bouts ending in second round knockouts. Coutures came at the hands of current Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar while Nogueira’s was by former number one contender Frank Mir, the first stoppage Nogueira has suffered in his long career.
UFC 102 will also feature a light heavyweight bout between hard hitting UFC veteran Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Thiago Silva. Like the heavyweight bout both fighters are coming off losses and look to get back on track and in pursuit towards a title fight. Watch these modern day warriors slug it out which will surely end in an exciting fashion.
